Having lived in New Orleans for several years, he also developed a great appreciation for blues and jazz of all styles. These influences ultimately led him to create his own unique voice. From his clean, angelic, intricate Blues stylings to his searing, angry, on-the-edge, harmonic squawks, he creates a unique tone that is on the cutting edge of the underground Blues scene.

Danny Lloyd is the founding Director of Bands at Pine Lake Preparatory Charter School in Mooresville, NC and is a doctoral student in Music Education at Boston University. He has a long and distinguished career in Music Education that spans 22 years having taught, composed, arranged and judged for middle school, high school, collegiate, drum corps and indoor/winter programs in North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, and Florida. This includes teaching and arranging music for the Appalachian State University Marching Mountaineers and the Wake Forest University Marching Band. Mr. Lloyd received both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music Education from Appalachian State University, studying conducting with Dr. William Gora, as well as a Minor in Percussion Performance, studying percussion with Dr. Rob Falvo, Dr. Scott Meister and Mr. Rick Dilling. Additionally, he has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Theory and Composition studying composition with Dr. Scott Meister. Mr. Lloyd marched with the DCI Division 2 World Champion Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in 1993 and is a member of the Carolina Crown Alumni Association. Mr. Lloyd has judged for USBands, a division of Youth, Education and the Arts for ten years and numerous local marching shows for 18 years. In addition, Mr. Lloyd has written articles on drum corps and marching band for Halftime Magazine and Drum Corps World. Mr. Lloyd is originally from Winston-Salem, NC, and is the proud father of Melanie, Alex, and Sara-Alyce.

Matthew Stribling is a dedicated musician and infectiously energetic. Combine his love of music with his instrument of choice, the Ukulele, and you will have a hard time not smiling and learning. Mr. Stribling has been playing guitar and other stringed instruments for almost 15 years, with his true passion and enjoyment resting in the tiny, tropical instrument of Hawaii. He has played locally across North and South Carolina in several public and private venues. Versed in many styles and different genres of music, learning the Ukulele doesn’t mean you have to play “Tip Toe through the Tulips” all the time. Mr. Stribling can teach any age and will adjust how he instructs, from basic chords to actually playing their favorite songs, based on experience and overall goals.
