I went to Central Cabarrus High School, where I was captain of the award-winning drumline. After graduating I remained on staff as a drum instructor for a couple of years, in which time the drumline won a national championship. I have a background in marching band and drum set. My musical style influences are country, rock, blues, etc.
ANDREW WARBURTON • SAX, FLUTE AND CLARINET LESSONS • CONCORD
My name is Andrew Warburton, and I am very excited to join the Lesson Factory at Music and More. I have loved music from a very early age, and my passion is helping other’s realize their musical potential. I am about to earn my Bachelors of Music in Music Education from UNC-Charlotte, and I plan to pursue a career as a band director in the public schools. I began my study of music at age 8 with the Great Highland Bagpipe, which laid the foundation for my pursuit of music. Saxophone was the next instrument I found, and I have been studying the saxophone 11 years now. While at UNC-Charlotte, I studied under Dr. Will Campbell and performed in the Wind Ensemble, Big Band, Jazz Combos, and the Saxophone Quartet. My studies included major works in the saxophone repertoire, as well as an in-depth study of jazz and improvising. I have also studied flute and clarinet while in college, and feel at home teaching those instruments as well. Whether your interest is learning the basics, preparing for an audition or negotiating chord changes on a jazz standard, we can work together to accomplish your musical goals!
